Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are one of the most private couples in Hollywood.
So much so that, as a couple, they've never even posed on a red carpet together - even when Gosling won his Golden Globe for La La Land.
So it's very rare for them to provide any kind of updates about their family. However, on Wednesday, Mendes shared that they've added a new addition to their brood.
The new member of the Mendes-Gosling family is Lucho the dog, who Mendes revealed on Instagram has been adopted from the Los Angeles-based Friends For Life Rescue Network.
Mendes shared a gorgeous picture with her new pup on the beach at sunset. She used her story of pet adoption to rally for the cause, encouraging her followers either to adopt if they can or donate.
It's thought Mendes and Gosling have been together since 2011 after meeting on the set of The Places Beyond The Pines.
The couple have two daughters, Esmeralda who is four years old and Amada who is two.
During his Golden Globe acceptance speech in 2017, Gosling paid tribute to Mendes without mentioning her by name, and dedicated his award to her late brother Juan Carlos Mendes.
'I would like to try and thank one person properly and say that while Iw as singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer.
'If she hadn't taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So, sweetheart, thank you. To my daughters, Amada and Esmeralda, I love you.'
Just a couple of months ago, Mendes gave a rare insight into her partnership with Gosling, explaining that having children 'was the furthest thing from my mind' until she met the actor.
'Ryan Gosling happened,' she told Women's Health. 'I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have... not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him.'
