Gigi Hadid has revealed that she will never return to the Greek Island of Mykonos after her villa was robbed. The 24-year-old was there this month to celebrate her sister Alana’s birthday, alongside Bella and friends, but a break-in forced them to cut their trip short and charter a private plane to return home.

Although they were out at the time of the robbery, they returned to their rental villa to find that their belongings had been taken. Gigi’s father, Mohammed Hadid, confirmed the news to TMZ saying: 'Gigi called me at the airport when she was taking off. She was traumatised.'

'They were out, they had their bodyguard with them. They got robbed – the house was broken into.' The property developer added: 'Nobody hurt her, thank God.'

While away, Gigi launched her new polaroid Instagram series, Gi'sposables, and judging by her feed you’d be mistaken for believing it was a perfect holiday. The model uploaded shots of the girl gang seemingly having a blissful time on the party island - but she later warned fans not to believe everything they see on social media. Captioning a picture of herself in a bikini at the villa, she said: 'Mykonos film in. PS(A). Don't let insta fool u. Got robbed. Never going back lol. Wouldn’t recommend. Spend your money elsewhere.'

Instead of receiving sympathy from her fans however, people were overwhelming critical of the model blaming 'the whole of Mykonos' for what happened. Many pointed out that although the incident was unfortunate, crime happens everywhere and some even went as far as to call her comment 'slander'.

Currently, her two accounts have a combined following of almost 50 million, so many worried that her influence could seriously impact Greece where tourism is one of the main sources of income. She has not responded to comments.
