Hi all
Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.
This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false.

12/08/19: Liam Hemsworth Breaks Silence After Miley Cyrus Split

Days after reports of their split began to circulate, Liam Hemsworth has spoken for the first time about his break-up from wife Miley Cyrus.

The 29 year-old actor was spotted out in Byron Bay, in his native Australia, with his older brother Chris Hemsworth and was approached by Daily Mail Australia.

According to MailOnline, upon questioning by the reporter, Hemsworth said of his marriage breakdown: 'You don't understand what it's like.'

He further qualified his feelings with a simple: 'I don't want to talk about it mate.'

Cyrus was the first to speak out about the end of her near-10-year relationship and seven-month marriage with the The Hunger Games star by posting an Instagram post with a lengthy caption about evolving as a person.

This came days after People published a statement from Cyrus’s rep, seemingly confirming their separation:

‘Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.’

Since this statement, Cyrus has been spotted kissing Kaitlynn Carter, who is Brody Jenner's ex-partner.

Jenner responded to the paparazzi pictures with a light-hearted Instagram post, which stated:

'Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today. Watch out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon.'

Cyrus didn't appear to be amused with Brody Jenner's quip, hitting back: 'Go take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer.'

Oh boy, this is a lot.
