Bohemian Rhapsody co-stars and off-screen couple Rami Malek and Lucy Boynton both had in-depth interviews come out today where they talked a little about each other. The two have been dating for over a year and kept the intimate details of their relationship private. But the little things—like Malek finding the perfect deodorant for Boynton as a gift at a Goop store or Boynton explaining how she felt when Malek kissed her live at the 2019 Oscars—those, they will talk about.
Boynton told The Cut that there's a reason why she's more reserved sharing details about their relationship. 'I had an interview recently where I was asked such crude and candid questions about my relationship,' the actress said. 'It kind of forced me to pull way back.'
She did acknowledge that her 'weirdly calm' reaction during Malek's Oscars tribute to her and kiss was thanks to CBD. Malek said in his Best Actor Oscars acceptance speech: 'Lucy Boynton, you're the heart of this film. You are beyond immensely talented. You have capture my heart. Thank you so much.'
Boynton told the outlet that she ate a handful of CBD candies before the ceremony and then after that big moment, 'I blacked out.'
Of Malek's win itself, Boynton said while blushing, 'Him winning for his performance was like winning for the tip of the iceberg of everything he had done. You kind of forget that there are hundreds of other people in the room.'
Malek, meanwhile, went errand shopping during his GQ interview. He stopped in a Goop store to get a surprise gift for Boynton. He ended up choosing a Schmidt's Jasmine Tea deodorant, saying, 'she wants deodorant. Does it have aluminium in it?' No, it doesn't. 'She'll be so "chuffed,"' he said of the gift.
