Emma Stone is giving a new twist to Cruella De Vil. Disney released the first look at Stone in her role in the upcoming film Cruella, showing the Oscar-winning actress as the younger, significantly more punk version of the iconic villain.

Stone will play the character pre-101 Dalmatians, and the film will follow her in her younger years during the 1970s. The rest of cast is also set to include Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Joel Fry. It’s set to hit theatres on May 28, 2021.

The reveal happened at Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, this weekend, where the company has rolled out a series of other buzz-worthy surprises. The first trailer for the upcoming live-action Lady and the Tramp was released as well as the first look at the new High School Musical series.

Perhaps most exciting to fans was the announcement that Hilary Duff would be returning to her role as Lizzie McGuire in a new series that follows the young character as she deals with life as a soon-to-be 30-year-old in New York City.

“It feels very surreal, to be honest. I’ve been living with this information for a few months now, so it’s been very hard to even contain my excitement,” Duff said after the announcement. “She’s such a big part of me and my life, and now she’s 30, and I feel like I’m going to have to learn some of her quirky faces again. But I’m excited!”
