After browsing through all the incredible red carpet fashion and beauty looks for the 2020 Golden Globes, we thought we'd spotted everyone.

There was Scarlett Johansson in her incredible strapless red gown, Lucy Boynton's dazzling eye make-up and the adorable red carpet couple moments featuring Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez.

But lo' and behold, is that Beyoncé and Jay-Z?

The couple dodged the red carpet and were instead spotted inside the Golden Globes ceremony.

We first saw them giving a hugely deserving applause to Ellen DeGeneres receiving the inaugural Carol Burnet award after an emotional and funny speech from Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon.

Beyoncé wore a stunning gold and black dress with puff sleeves, while husband Jay, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday, looked dapper in a tuxedo.

Naturally, fans were thrilled by this impromptu appearance:

While some fans expressed concern that Bey and Jay appeared to be without a seat at the prestigious ceremony - (guys, really?), reporters inside the auditorium, clarified the Carters walked in and stood to applause McKinnon and DeGeneres before taking their seats inside the venue.

While the appearance might have caught some off guard because the married couple of 12 years were absent from the red carpet, in actual fact Beyoncé is nominated in the Best Original Song category for her song, 'Spirit' which she wrote and performed for her 2019 portrayal of Nala in The Lion King remake.

It was another huge year for the star, which she rounded off on Instagram last week with an adorable video and photo montage, treating fans to a glimpse of her adorable two-year-old twins Rumi and Sir and a full Carter family portrait with eldest daughter Blue Ivy.
