Two years ago, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas got married at a Las Vegas chapel after the Billboard Music Awards, and Diplo streamed the entire thing on Instagram for the world to watch. Today, the two are celebrating the two-year anniversary of their legal wedding (the two had their second, bigger wedding in France in that summer) by sharing never-before-seen photos of it on Instagram. Turner posted a gallery of images, writing to her husband, 'Happy 2 year Vegas Wedding anniversary to this big ol hunk of man meat ❤️ 🥩 ⛪️'
Jonas reposted a shot on his Instagram Story and captioned it 'my queen', in honour of Turner.
He also shared his own gallery of new photos. He captioned it, 'Married as F@$K for 2 years! Love you bub @sophiet.'
Turner and Jonas needed to legally wed in the U.S. before getting married in front of their friends and family in France. The two had intended to keep the Vegas wedding and their marriage secret for some time, Turner later revealed.
She would've kept the marriage private 'maybe not forever. I think at some point I would have had to stop saying "fiancé", but yes, I would have kept it a secret,' Turner told Net-a-Porter's magazine Porter just seven days after her wedding. 'Marriage is a private thing between two people and I think that’s how it should always be. It’s not about the dress, it’s not about the food. It’s about being husband and wife, and being dedicated to each other forever.
'But it’s tricky [to keep it secret] when people livestream it,' Turner continued, raising an eyebrow. According to Porter, the couple had booked Diplo to be their wedding DJ. He took it upon himself to be their videographer without their permission. 'It would have been better if no one had known, but I actually think it was funny,' Turner said of his live stream.
