There’s few things in life that can compare to the sheer horror of being rejected by a baby as you attempt to hold it.

A Whatsapp rejection or failed Tinder match from a love interest you can cope with, but when a small infant looks into your eyes and begins to wobble that lower lip, you know they’re judging you as a failure.

So, take a moment to feel for Selena Gomez who just received a metaphorical palm to the face from a toddler during a stroll on Wednesday.

Appearing at a PUMA event in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old stopped to hug a baby, who proceeded to turn away and scream while Selena exclaimed: ‘I don’t know what to do!’

The moment was caught on the singer’s Instagram Story, with a mortified Selena clasping her hands to her face in embarrassment.

Following the baby faux-pas, the star went on to dance to music playing loudly in the street as she made her way past the crowds of fans.
