It was the usual scene, a handful of us beauty journos huddled around the lead make-up artist, Stephane Marias for Mac to talk through the look he created for Haider Ackermann
. He told us this season's girl 'doesn't care about the trends, she's a radical woman and this is her signature look that she wears everyday'. Just a black eye would have been 'too normal', Stephane explained, 'I added the black glitter over the top to give it an edge, it's not pretty embellishment it's facial jewellery'. Punk, carefree, statement - got it.

Then we snuck in to watch the rehearsal from the front row (which had the most breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower)
Post-rehearsal we were about to leave for our next call-time when the MAC girls informed us there'd been a change of plan - with 15 minutes until show time they were changing the look. Luckily for the make-up artists the change wasn't too drastic - rather than just using black glitter over black liner, Stephane created a bespoke mix of silver and black glitter using Mac 3D in Silver to really amp it up.
Application changed too - instead of applying it only over the liner it was patted on haphazardly-on-purpose almost up to the brow.
Want to get the look for yourself? Create a bold, graphic flick using MAC Penultimate Eyeliner, £17, then apply a thin layer of Duo Adhesive glue over the top. Before the glue dries pat over a mix of glitter or if you want a subtler version try a shimmery silver or gold Pigment Pot for a just touch of sparkle.
