Watch out Kimmy K - J.K. Rowling is close to stealing your queen of social media crown. Because seriously, she is OWNING the Twitter game, with her bad-ass comeback skills, political commentary, and inspiring messages of support.
This time, J.K. has sent some moving words to a fan from Egypt, who also hopes to become a writer. The fan tweeted Rowling: 'You inspired me to write. However, in Egypt, girls can't do anything freely as boys. They laugh at me when I say I am a writer.'
And of course, J.K. Rowling was having NONE of that nonsense. No-one puts a writer in the corner. Unless it's to observe social situations and use them for character development. Her response was up to the usual superb J.K. Rowling standard, with the author reminding the girl to never, ever, give up on her goals.
'Don't you dare let their laughter extinguish your ambition,' she wrote. 'Turn it into fuel! Big hugs from one writer to another x'.
Rowling later helped out a teen who'd had to come out to a homophobic mother, telling her that it 'really will get better' and to 'stay strong'. Just another day in the life of a Twitter superhero.
