'I'm not sure if you can see but I have a bit of redness on my face and a bit of scarring,' Amber Anderson kicks off the latest episode of '5 In 5' by telling ELLE UK. 'I had a very funny accident recently where I walked into a tree. It was a week before the Peaky Blinders premiere.' Not ideal when you're the star of one of the UK's most beloved TV dramas. Luckily, as well as being a world class actor, Anderson is quite the beauty buff, turning to the powers of light therapy to get her skin looking flawless in time for the red carpet. 'You put this mask on, you look insane, and sit there for 10 minutes. It's a game changer.'

It's unsurprising then that the Brit's North London home is decked out with everything a beauty obsessive could want, including a glass cabinet brimming with limited edition Chanel perfumes. After living and working in Paris as a model, Anderson picked up more than a few cult French beauty products and pro skincare tips. In fact, when it comes to face massage, she's quite the expert. 'I massage this Sarah Chapman moisturiser into my face until it feels like it's all soaked in really nicely,' she tells us whilst filming in her burgundy-hued bathroom ('I deliberately painted the walls with this really glossy finish because I love lighting candles when I have a bath and seeing all the reflections on the walls').

Continuing with her skin sculpting tips the 30-year-old tells us, 'I try to get around my nose. I might do a bit of a pat around my eyes. I also like to do a weird thing around my jaw here. I feel like I always get quite a tense jaw.'

Of course, Anderson's expertise isn't just limited to skincare. When it comes to applying make-up, a slow and steady professional application is what Anderson prefers. 'I realise I only have five minutes but I make-up is always nice when it's had a chance to be built up very slightly, so I think lots of small layers is better than whacking it on and hoping for the best.'
