International pop-star Katy Perry revealed how her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, proposed to her (come on, we know you're dying to know).

And let's just say, grand romantic gestures show no signs of dying out so long as Mr Bloom is around.

Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel’s chat show, Perry delved into more detail about how her fiancé proposed on Valentine’s Day and it was no small feat.

The 42-year old actor, noted for starring in films such as the Lord of Rings trilogy amongst others, took the songstress on a Valentine’s Day helicopter ride, much to her surprise.

‘I thought we were going to go see some art, after dinner, but instead we pulled up to a helicopter,’ Katy told the chat-show host.

When Kimmel joked that it sounded 'very Bachelor', Katy quipped: 'Yeah! I'm just glad I don't have to go on that show now.'

Soon the couple were off in the air, though the proposal didn't run 100% smoothly. Katy disclosed that Orlando handed her a note which detailed all the reasons why she is so amazing/things he wanted to tell her about his love for her.

The note was meant to be a distraction tactic to cover himself as he pulled out the engagement ring box.

However, the box was so big that he ended up lugging it out and accidentally smashing a bottle of champagne with his elbow. But despite all the commotion, Katy said it was 'really sweet'.

'We landed on a rooftop [in Los Angeles] and my whole family was there, and all my friends,' she continued. 'He did so well.'

What a way to propose. But it would appear Katy knew the engagement was coming, assuring Kimmel that she ‘voiced her opinions’ about the ring.

As the very newly engaged duo’s helicopter touched down in LA they were greeted by friends and family who were, naturally, incredibly thrilled.

‘He did so well’ laughed Katy.

Smashed champagne bottles aside, well done Orlando for pulling that off.
