Margot Robbie has been left squirming after having to expertly dodge an interviewer’s question about her sex life with husband Tom Ackerley.
On Wednesday, the Oscar-nominated actress appeared in a pre-recorded interview on the TV programme The Project, during which she was quizzed about life at home with her English beau.
Interviewer Carrie Bickmore asked the 29-year-old if she ever ‘Netflix and chills’ with Ackerley. The term has widely come to refer to watching the streaming platform with someone, before engaging in sexual activity.
Clearly flummoxed by the rather personal question, the BAFTA-nominated star replied: ‘We don't get as much downtime as we probably like, but we both really like what we do.
‘We also have a lot of time to chill - actually that’s a lie we don’t have time to chill - but we have a lot of fun and we love what we do.'
After the interview, Bickmore’s colleague questioned her thoughts behind asking such an forward question.
'Did you forget what the term Netflix and chill actually means?' presenter Peter Helliar joked.
'Perhaps I just meant hang on the couch instead of having action on a couch,' Bickmore replied, laughing.
The actress married Ackerley – who is a film producer - in Byron Bay, Australia, in 2016, three years after meeting on the set of the World War II drama Suite Française.
Last month, the Bombshell star opened up about her bedtime rituals and what annoys her husband behind closed doors.
Discussing the love she has for her stuffed rabbit, Bunny, from childhood, Robbie said that Ackerley isn’t a huge fan of her toy.
‘[My husband] always throws Bunny out of the bed because he obviously thinks it's a tad ridiculous that I still sleep with Bunny,’ the star said on W magazine's podcast Five Things With Lynn Hirschberg.
‘Maybe he's a little jealous that Bunny always gets priority place in the bed. He thinks I'm asleep and he'll throw Bunny out of the bed and I get so cross with him.’
