Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you should hibernate, any attempt at running faltering with your friend/partner/parent (delete as applicable) asking that ever-annoying question, ‘well, where did you last have your trainers?’
The London Winter Run will see 15,000 runners take in the city’s biggest landmarks including The London Eye, St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben and Tower of London.
But this is no ordinary 10k race.
It ain’t called the ‘Winter Run’ for nothing. You start with a snowball warm-up, before embarking on the race that takes you through 20m long snow zones where you get blasted as you’re running. Ice tunnels and caves are there to run through. You’ll get a free picture taken at the finish line where you run through a blizzard before being treated to congratulatory hugs and high fives from polar bears (well, people dressed as).
It’s sounds fun but also a bit bonkers. Brilliant.
