Weeks after our Traitors tears dried following its shocking ending, we now have another TV series that's making us whip out the tissues. Earlier this month, Netflix released its re-make of the 2011 'tragicomedy' film One Day, and from the looks of our social media feeds, it's the series everyone is devouring and sobbing along to. And, with the captivating 'what if' storyline, we have the stunning duo Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall to thank for that.

Known for its heartbreaking narrative that won fans over more than a decade ago, (when it was released as a book in 2009, written by author David Nicholls), bookworms can expect the same melancholy this time round, and Woodall agrees. However, his most difficult scene to film was gut-wrenching (no pun intended) for other reasons.

'It was a day on Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh and we were at the top of this big, big mountain and I had food poisoning,' Woodall revealed during a game of 'Ask Me Anything' with ELLE UK. 'So, we had to do the entire scene with me really not having a good time, but I couldn't come off of the mountain because we'd lose the whole day. We just kind of had to plough through, but it was a horrible experience.'

Woodall, who plays the deeply complex Dexter in One Day, will be familiar to TV fans thanks to his appearance as cheeky Essex boy Jack in second season of The White Lotus. The popularity of the Emmy award winning show, starring the likes of Jennifer Coolidge and Sydney Sweeney, has resulted in some lessons for the British actor when it comes to adapting to fame. 'Some of the changes since The White Lotus... when people are excited to meet someone off of the show that they love, there's an instant connection and you don't have to try as hard,' he said.

Elsewhere, Woodall discussed his favourite cuisine while filming in Scotland, what reminds him of home while filming on location, and why The Bear is the breakout show he'd love to star in.
