Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff’s 2023 wedding might have had the likes of Taylor Swift, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz and Lana Del Rey in the congregation, but for the actor, the best moment from her wedding day was the fairytale-like ceremony.

‘Actually doing the thing, that was the best part...,’ she opened up to ELLE UK during a recent game of Ask Me Anything, adding ‘...the vows, and the getting married, and you may kiss the bride and you break the glass.’

The couple began dating in the summer of 2021, and it was during a fitting for that year's Chanel Haute Couture show that our ELLE UK April cover star realised she would likely marry the music producer. ‘I had a sure, knowing feeling that he was my husband,’ the newlywed told us.

It seems apt then that Qualley opened Chanel’s Haute Couture show two years later in February 2024, and took to practicing her runway walk to her husband (to whom she married in custom Chanel, of course). ‘I wanted to do a good job,’ she recalls of feeling ‘very nervous’ ahead of the show. ‘I got some heels to practise in and walked around my hotel room. My husband was my audience member and I tried to decide what was going to be a good walk. I think it was okay. I think it was fine. It was silly and fun, and I'm glad I got to do it.’

The actor, who now stars in the Ethan Coen-directed Drive-Away Dolls, which tells the story of two friends embarking on an impromptu road trip to Tallahassee, Florida and are forced to flee from mobsters, sounds like someone who doesn't take friendship for granted. One close friend of hers is Lana Del Rey, who made her latest album, Did You Know There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, with Qualley’s other half. So close is the women's bond that the singer named a song after the actor.

Speaking about the 'Margaret' tribute, Qualley noted: ‘It’s honestly just the sweetest thing An insanely sweet gift that I'll cherish forever. And I love Lana so much and yeah, I feel so lucky to know her and have her as a friend. I can't believe that she wrote that… I'll show it to the kids one day and be like, “this was your mother”.’
